2010 Auditions

Tweetsie Railroad Performance Season:

April 30 to October 31, 2010

Our shows feature traditional Folk, Country, Bluegrass, and Children's music. We are looking for singers, dancers, actors, magicians, equestrians and technicians to become a part of North Carolina's original theme park.

Tweetsie Railroad provides steady work, competitive pay and valuable experience. Benefits include passes to other theme parks and attractions, complimentary tickets to Tweetsie Railroad, special staff events, and discounts on food and merchandise.

Audition Requirements

Singers

Tweetsie Railroad is looking for traditional, country and musical theater performers. Prepare two vocal selections to include one ballad and one up-tempo song. Bring sheet music in the proper key (an accompanist will be provided) or karaoke CD or tape.  Singers should be prepared for additional movement and acting audition.

Dancers

We are looking for dancers who can sing. All dancers interested in the Palace Show come prepared (see Singers). Cloggers should prepare a brief dance demonstrating your most proficient styles.  All dancers will be taught a combination on site.

Actors

Prepare a one minute monologue that demonstrates strong improvisational skills and proficiency in theatrical movement. Stage combat, magic and equestrian skills are of particular interest to our staff.

Equestrians

We need horse riders who can act.  Interested riders will be interviewed to determine their knowledge of horses and equine care.  Afterward a few may be selected to return later to demonstrate their riding skills.

Specialty Acts

Tweetsie Railroad is looking for music, comedic, or other variety acts to perform for special events or to fill in during our regular season schedule.  You may bring your act to either of our two local auditions or contact the Entertainment Department and we will send a representative to view your act in performance or rehearsal.

Stage Managers/Technicians

We are looking for stage managers with university, theme park or professional theater experience. We are also looking for audio engineers experienced in mixing live sound, AV specialists, crew chiefs, light board operators, stagehands and costume assistants.
